Manhattan,
Kan.

Manhattan, KS - The Lady Thunder volleyball team earned it's 8th Midwest Christian College Conference Regular Season championship this past week. The team went undefeated in all sets and matches over the three other teams competing in the conference this season. MCC will be the #1 seed in the Conference Tournament to be held October 30-31 at Calvary University in Belton, MO.

The Thunder offense and serving was too much for the Faith Eagles to handle. "Our offense was really firing on all cylinders today. We were able to get everyone involved, including giving two of our freshman setters some court experience. We were very please with the way the team mixed up their shots and ran some really great plays." said Coach Sanders.

In the first match, the offense was led by red shirt freshman Grace Holcomb with 11 kills with 0 errors on 19 swings. Holcomb also contributed one ace and one solo block. Junior outside hitter Katelynn Halstead also contributed 9 kills, 2 aces, 9 digs and 2 solo blocks. Junior outside hitter Grace Marozas led the defense with 19 digs and freshman libero Roni Harris was tallied 13 digs. Sophomore setter Elise Corbett tallied 27 assists, 3 aces and 9 digs. The team totaled 7 aces.

The second set was much the same, however, the Thunder was able to swith the line up two different setters. Halstead led the offense with 12 kills and Flax was right behind her with 10 kills. Marozas was strong once again on defense with 14 digs, Harris had 12 and freshman setter Kylie Walters had 11. Walters also had 28 assists and freshman setter Alayna Johnson had 11 in just one set.
